A weekend retreat exploring the art of yoga at Shekinashram Holistic Centre, in the heart of magical Glastonbury. This retreat enables you to step back from the busy life you lead. You are invited to take time out to explore different aspects of yoga, learning through experience how these styles and techniques affect our body, mind and spirit. The homely and relaxed setting of Shekinashram offers you time to restore, reflect and go deper into your yoga practice.

This retreat is held at the Shekinashram, situated in Dod Lane, Glastonbury, Somerset. Shekinashram is a spiritual community based on a commitment to living consciously, peacefully and truthfully. You will be asked to share and respect this commitment during your stay.

The weekend’s wide ranging activities will include guided meditation, pranyama, inner awareness work and a variety of sound healing and bakti yoga. We will focus on removing stress, restoring balance and creating harmony in body, mind and spirit.

During the retreat we will explore Rasa Vinjasa, or flow yoga. This yoga practice is challenging yet caring for your body. Rasa Vinjasa is said to be the yogic ‘juice of life’ as without it we become dry, or stuck in the routine of everyday life. Vinjasa yoga enlivens the body and soul. It is a moving meditation tasting the ‘now’.

There will be time during the weekend to explore Glastonbury, visit the Tor and other local sites such as the ancient Chalice Well.

The Shekinashram is situated in a beautiful, quiet location, on the side of Chalice Hill yet is a 5 minute walk into the centre of Glastonbury. The famous Tor is a 15 minute walk away.

Accommodation includes double or twin rooms inside the Ashram as well as shared sleeping space in a log cabin or a yurt in the garden. Accommodation is offered on a first come, first served basis.

The retreat is half-board. Our daily breakfast and lunch are lovingly prepared and include fresh, highly nutritious ingredients which are vegan and organic where possible. A typical breakfast includes a delicious Shekinashram superfood smoothie, muesli, cereals, hemp/rice/soya milk, soya yogurt, goji berries, dried and fresh fruit. Lunch includes foods such as dahl, rice, dressed seaweed, hummous, soups, greens salads and tasty dressings.
